About

I am a doctoral student at North Carolina State University in the Communication, Rhetoric and Digital Media program.  As I am profoundly influenced by my surroundings, it makes sense that my research interest is in the area of rhetoric of place.  My background and experience as a teacher of writing has made me consider the impact of the learning environment on student identity and texts.  Students are composing and learning in a variety of spaces, particularly at the college level, and mobile technologies have spurred this phenomenon.  As such, every space has the potential to be a learning space.
