About

Pankaj holds the Master's degree from Columbia University and the Ph.D. in Indic Traditions and Ecology from the University of Iowa. Some of his articles are published in journals such as Worldviews, Visual Anthropology, Religion Compass, and Religious Studies Review.

He has also presented papers at conferences in various universities such as Rutgers, Montclair, UMass, Drew, NJCU, North Carolina State University, and at the AAR conference in 2008 and 2009.

Currently, Pankaj is a Teaching Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University where he is teaching Hinduism, Jainism, Ecology, Hindi Films, Hindi language, Hindi/Urdu literature, and Sanskrit. He has also taught at Rutgers, Kean, New Jersey City University, and University of Iowa.

Pankaj also has extensive experience in computer technology and seeks to use novel ways to incorporate IT and films into his teaching. He is excited to offer the first ever online courses on Sanskrit, Jainism, and Bollywood from NC State Distance Education Program.

Pankaj is an active member of several academic and community organizations, is fluent in several Indian languages, and has published poems in Hindi.
